As a member of the groups \u003cem\u003eArte Madí\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003eLos Diez Pintores Concretos\u003c\/em\u003e, Darie advocated for the use of non-figurative geometric abstraction in Latin America and developed ties with South American artists adept in concretism, such as the Slovak-Argentinian Gyula Kosice.
