Antal Péczely (1891–1963) was a remarkable Hungarian painter whose works combine the rigor of drawing with a carefully structured narrative sensibility. His style falls within the genre of genre painting, portraiture, and interior scenes, with decorative accents and a discreet period atmosphere. He explored interior scenes, portraits of ladies and children, but also rarer genres such as social scenes illustrating Jewish communities or moments of daily life.
